amazon login

Dear amazon.com,

My problem is pretty simple: (1) visit amazon.com; (2) try to log in -- wait, how do you do that? The top bar talks about personalized recommendations, which I don't care about, and from the wording it seems I need to sign in before I can use that; the top-right has an ad in it, but just below that there's a promising-looking "your account" link that seems to take me to a site map; the bar on the left overviews departments; and the main frame is just a big Kindle ad.

PS: I'm sure there are plenty of other ways to sign in and I could've found them by exploring the site, but by that point you've already lost me.
