one-man collaborative filtering

Dan painstakingly rated all of his music and performed a seemingly endless number of different data analyses. As he wrote: "The thrilling results lie a mere click away."

Part of me thinks this is neat and part of me wishes I could get Dan to work on software I can use -- clearly he has both too much free time and brainpower for it to waste away on stuff like analyzing the variance!
