The story behind the LJ/6A DDoS:
[...] saying that Six Apart’s services were taken down as the result of a “sophisticated distributed denial of service attack” is an incredibly gracious statement that only addresses about 10% of the whole story.
(For what it's worth: all the media keep circulating this Om Malik quote about how you now know the service has "made it big", but in fact LJ's been DoS'd plenty of times in the past.)
