What's the hip software for analyzing access logs these days? Beyond the normal stats I'm curious about stuff like search queries, common referrers, that sort of thing. I'd prefer to not use an external service.
well, er, if you actually meant "hip" but not necessarily "cheap", I'm pretty sure the hippest site analysis tool I've seen is Mint: http://www.haveamint.com/ . It's, uh, pretty. Haven't actually used it myself, though.
it's funny, i was skeptical of them because they used to share office space with us and frankly, i felt their LCD monitors were too big, but I've been interetsed in Splunk lately since I saw their ads on Sourceforge.
