Just announced: Avahi 0.1. From what I can tell it's just a capital-F Free software implementation of zeroconf, but the interesting part to me is that it integrates with D-BUS.

I've been thinking lately that it'd be fun to do some sort of immediate local wireless networking project. I spend two hours a day on a bus filled with people with laptops, and it's sorta crazy and neat to see the sorts of hacks you can do when you've little else to look at and smart people egging you on.

Ah, if only I had time for all of the interesting things to hack on...
