Stevey's JVM Language Soko-Shootout: "In March 2005, I decided to take an in-depth look at languages for the Java Virtual Machine. I wound up picking a classic game called Sokoban and implementing it in nine languages."

I was especially interested in his reports on Groovy and Nice, as I've read about both but used neither. (Update: didn't realize that Nice came out of Inria (home of O'Caml) -- no wonder it seemed so sensible to me!)
