a bit of positivity

I (and most of my friends) are consumed with bitterness about the world of technology: it seems like every day someone else snatches defeat from the jaws of victory.

With that in mind, I challenged Mohebbi and Griff to name three things they are positive about, things that give them hope. Without bitterness, too: i.e., not "I'm happy that one day people will stop using VB". It took a surprising amount of effort.

Try to think of your own before you see my three:
1) Haskell.
2) That Apple is continuing to innovate in user experience, forcing Microsoft to do the same.
3) That small groups of talented people still can change the world. For example, Google, Napster, LiveJournal.

Regarding that last one: one way to look at it is that there are about as many active users of LiveJournal as there are people in Jamaica or Mongolia.
