and i have the best of both worlds: i didn't have the idea, i just had a better idea for the implementation. so i get to take some credit but not feel responsible for the rest.
and finally, the argument those people make is stupid. the whole point of search engines using links is to show an endorsement from the source page to the target. talking about legitamite commenters feeding search engines just means they really understand how the web works.
(ask me sometime private if you'd like to know what the real utility of all of this is. it's nothing devious but it's also something i don't want to make public.)
